Looking for UK Wholesale Halal Meat Products?

If you are searching for wholesale halal meat products then the chances are that you already have an understanding of what halal means – but do you know the standards and certification processes involved? KQF is here to answer any questions you might have, with a view to providing you with the best in halal processed meat products and non-meat halal foods. We do not cut corners or compromise on the quality of our halal meat which is why we are considered one of the leading wholesale halal food suppliers in the UK

So what is Halal Chicken and Meat?

‘Halal’ does not necessarily have to refer to food products and can be applied to anything that is permissible according to Islamic law; in fact the true Arabic meaning of the word is ‘permissible’ or ‘lawful’. However, halal is best known for its application to food products.

When applied to food products, halal food is any food permissible for Islamic people to eat. In order for beef, chicken and lamb to become halal it must be slaughtered and prepared in accordance with accepted practices. Amongst the many criteria that must be applied, the slaughter of the animal must be undertaken by a Muslim who must invoke the name of Allah.

Meat products that haven’t been appropriately prepared are explicitly forbidden for consumption by Muslims, so it is imperative that food producers can give such consumers complete confidence that everything is prepared as it should be, in accordance with Islamic law. Our trusted suppliers are subject to continuous on-site monitoring by the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC), which places full time inspectors at their premises to ensure that their methods and produce are completely acceptable. We, too, have a full time HMC inspector at our premises, for the same reason. We also check our non-meat food products and ingredients to ensure these too are compliant with stringent halal requirements. To further ensure the quality of our halal meat products and to maintain our reputation as reliable wholesale halal food suppliers in the UK, we have secured a Grade A rating under the BRC quality assurance system for food.

No Cutting Corners or Compromising on Quality

As trusted and highly regarded halal food suppliers in the UK we hold firm to our beliefs  and will only source our products containing halal chicken and other meats from HMC certified suppliers. Our ethos is that by maintaining integrity and by ensuring everything we provide is of the highest quality, we will continue to exceed our customers’ expectations and continue to merit their trust.

KQF Signs Distribution Deal with BAKO North Western

British halal food manufacturer, KQF has signed a new distribution agreement with BAKO North Western that will see the company’s range of halal convenience foods introduced to a raft of new wholesale customers.

BAKO North Western is part of one of the country’s leading food wholesale supply and distribution companies and, with its customer base of catering companies, bakers, restaurants, schools, universities and many other organisations, it will provide valuable market reach for the Lancashire-based manufacturer.

BAKO took the decision to work with KQF following a series of site visits and detailed discussions with senior managers. KQF’s ‘Grade A’ BRC accreditation was an important factor in the company’s choice, as was its approval by the Halal Monitoring Committee, which is one of the UK’s leading certification bodies for halal foods.

Speaking shortly after the signing of the agreement, KQF managing director Faruk Vali confirmed that BAKO North Western had approved the company as a supplier of halal foods.

“We’re delighted with the new agreement,” he said. “It’s an important achievement and we can be especially pleased that we got through the inspection process so smoothly. It can sometimes take months to gain approval but we did it in less than three weeks – and that’s testament to our BRC accreditation and the improved quality control procedures that we put in place last year.

“As a credible and well established wholesale supplier, BAKO North Western makes an excellent strategic partner for us. We have high quality products with proven halal credentials, and BAKO has an excellent distribution mechanism and a superb track record in the food service industry. The initial strategic focus of the agreement will be the North West region and we very much look forward to building the relationship.”

For its part, BAKO is equally positive about the new relationship. BAKO North Western Category Buyer, Moya McBride said: “We are proud to stock such a fantastic range of locally sourced halal products.”

The agreement with BAKO follows a number of other recent developments at KQF, including the appointment of a new European export agent and the acquisition of a 5,000ft² superstore in Blackburn. More information about the company can be found on its website: www.kqf-foods.com.

KQF Expansion Creates New Jobs

Halal food manufacturer KQF has announced the recruitment of several new employees as part of its continuing plans for expansion, which have included the launch of new product ranges, new contract manufacturing agreements and the acquisition of a new superstore in Blackburn.

Notable appointments include Zahir Patel to the role of key trade account manager and Ilyas Akubat, who joins as manager of the KQF Superstore on Whalley Range.

Both the new recruits have impressive track records in the retail trade – Zahir having previously worked for Graham & Brown and, prior to joining KQF, as a retail development executive for GlaxoSmithKline, where he worked with well known brands such as Ribena and Lucozade.

Ilyas is a highly experienced store manager who has spent more than twenty-five years in the industry. He most recently managed a forecourt retail outlet that secured a national award for excellence in customer service and, working alongside KQF managing director Faruk Vali, he will now be leading the transformation of the superstore.

Other new appointments include two new reception and administration staff, Fawzia Khan and Sadya Sange; a new accounts support executive, Ammar Patel; and three new customer support staff – Iram Khan, Umar Patel  and Rashida Ali – all of whom will be based at the Blackburn superstore.

“The changes at KQF are now picking up pace,” said managing director Faruk Vali. “Consequently, we need additional staff to deal with the increasing volumes of business and a more diverse range of activities. It’s all moving in a very positive direction and I’m confident that we’re building up the right mix of skills and experience to maintain steady but controlled growth.”

As part of the same process, administration executive Farzana Khan has been promoted to the post of office manager and production manager Shaukat Ahmed will be supporting the expansion of the company’s contract manufacturing operations by assuming the role of key account manager for private label customers.
